SERVICE DAY INFORMATION:
There are many things to be done in this building to support Senior Support Services. Volunteer by doing some building, painting, and organizing to help utilize the building which is beyond capacity.
The Lion Project has been collecting a team of movers & shakers in the community to see if they can help Senior Support Services get into a new building to serve more. If this is something you’d like to help with, email Zak@thelionproject.org.
Senior Support Services started back in the 70s when the downtown housing market was similar to it is now…. too expensive for many elders as they were pushed toward motels, shelters, and the streets. Right now, Senior Support Services is seeing a 20% increase in clients every year and as executive director, Ted Pascoe, says, they are bursting at the seems. And they are.
The program staff is amazing. They love our homeless elders and their staff exhibits a beautiful balance of gentle love and tough boundaries.
Help accelerate the growth of this organization. These clients are relying on them and they need the community to help meet these growing needs. See their promotional video on the Senior Support Services Campaign page.
